Why do we continue to harm them? Huge portions of the Amazon rainforest are cut down every year for lumber, space for cattle ranching, and other wood products. One and a half acres are cut down every second, adding up to over 57,600,000 acres every year. Losing the rainforest would have devastating effects on the Earth. At the rate at which the rainforest is being destroyed, it simply isn't sustainable. A change needs to be made.
